Motherboard

Want more RAM, a faster processor, and a better video card? Were you told none of that would fit into your current PC? You have come to the right place.

It may less expensive to simply upgrade the processor, but not as productive as replacing the motherboard.  A new motherboard could have USB 3.0 support, RAID support, PCI 2.0 support, 6MB data support, DDR3 memory support, and more! You get to take advantage of virtual technology, 64 bit software and more when you upgrade to a new motherboard.

Upgrading the motherboard will most likely require additional upgrades to other components. Your old video card may not be compatible with your new motherboard. You may even have a hard drive that isn’t supposed by new boards anymore. When you upgrade your motherboard, you are saying” I want new stuff all around!”

Upgrades of this type are considered a complete system overhaul. With the new system bus speeds near the 3Ghz mark,you can experience everything faster with a new more powerful motherboard.

What type should I get?

The sky’s the limit when it comes to upgrades. You can get a new Intel SKT1155 system or an AMD multi core system. You can get 4-8 SATA ports, SAS connectors, and more.

Power Supply

System overheating? Does it freeze when doing labor intensive tasks? Does your PC shut off completely? You may need an upgraded power supply.

A new power supply will be necessary is you add high end hardware, additional hard drives, upgraded video cards, or more RAM. A new power supply is often required to provide that additional power necessary to run the computer at it’s recommended power levels.

Standard PC’s usually have power supplies of 200-350 watts. Upgraded options include power supply’s in the 750-1150 watt range.

Along with the increased power, also comes increased efficiency. The high end power supplies are usually rated 80Plus or better. 80Plus power supplies save you money be being more efficient. For most of us who leave our computers on 24×7, this savings really adds up.

Video cards

Have you tried to play a game that wouldn’t play? Would you like better scenery? Do you see wiggly lines on the screen? Is your screen font too large? Can you turn the graphics up on your favorite games? Give it a try, try for super high, or extreme graphics. Does the game still function correctly?

A better video card could solve all your problems.

You will definitely need a better video card if you want to play newer PC games. Many of the most popular games like CIV, Starcraft, Battlefield, and Sims, require upgraded video cards. Even some basic online games now require upgraded video cards.

The never more feature packed MMO games also require upgraded video cards. Something like an Nvidia 550TX would be a great upgrade for any MMO game.

Older PC’s had PCI or AGP interfaces. Newer systems all use PCI-Express. More advanced systems actually use (2) PCI-Express cards connected together. You can get video card setups that cost more than $1200!

Only if you need that mush video power though. For the rest of us, a simple upgrade to a 1-2GBb video card usually does the trick.

Upgrading to a new video card is only possible if your motherboard supports it. You also need a power supply with enough power to run your new video card. All of which we can upgrade right along with the new video card.

USB 2.0

“The device can perform faster.” Sound familiar?

Your computer is telling you that you have hooked a USB2 device into a USB1 port. If you have USB2 ports, your data transfer rate would be more than 2x faster!

Most new components now use USB2. You can have USB2 cards added to your system to give you access to its higher performance and expandability.

RAM (Random Access Memory)

PC running slow? Do you suffer from screen or program lag? You may simply need to upgrade your RAM.

This is usually the most effective and efficient upgrade. Older PC’s are usually restricted to the use of 512Mb-1Gb. Newer systems use DDR-3 and start at 2Gb-4Gb, and have maximums of up to32Gb.
